Interlibrary Loan

If our library does not own a material, every effort will be made to borrow it from another library. Call us at 622.8623 or email: sdlcircdesk@yahoo.com

The Interlibrary Loan Program allows patrons who live in our library district to borrow books that are not owned by our library from other libraries free of charge. If possible, note the Title,  Author and ISBN number of the material you want.

If you are a resident of our library district and a patron in good standing, you may initiate a loan request yourself by using MelCat.   If you would like the assistance of a librarian, visit the library, call 622-8623 during our regular open hours or e-mail sdlcircdesk@yahoo.com. Once your request has been placed, library staff will contact you when the material arrives and is ready to be picked up at our library.

You may place your own interlibrary loan request with MelCat

Extended Borrowing Fees

If a patron chooses to keep a material past its due date, an extended borrowing fee will be charged. Books, books on tape, CD's, and magazines are charged 10 cents per item per day overdue. Movies and CD-ROMs are $1 per day per item. Materials returned to the drop box after the library is closed are considered to be overdue. Fines will not accrue on days the library is closed. The maximum fine is the replacement cost of the material. Movies do not have a maximum fine.

Grace Period: All materials, except Hot Movies, are granted a grace period of 24 hours after the due date where overdue fines are not charged.
