Poetry Alive Scrapbook

David Blaine acted as master of ceremonies and guided the audience as they worked together to create a poem from  random phrases selected from books in the young adult section of the library.

Near the end of his life

Lacking inspiration

He was playing his lute.

Reliving ordeals, terrors and struggles,

the all important ingredient

as his teacher.

When it seemed safe enough to let himself stop,

He wondered where Micah Anderson had gone.

Poems are words that dance to the rhythm of life.

David Blaine

David was born in New York and raised in Michigan. He has had a lifelong love of poetry and wrote his first poem in the 3rd grade.  Dave has written three books of poetry:

Pete Rheaume

Pete has traveled extensively throughout Canada, Great Brittan and the United States. He has sailed as a mariner on lake freighters. His poetry reflects his love of  nature. Pate has written a book of poetry titled, A Man Upon A Pilgrimage.

Adam Maher

Adam is a student attending Saginaw Valley and intends to pursue a career as a special education teacher.

Andrew Ladak

After more than 25 years in marketing and corporate communications, Andy retired early to pursue other passions--in particular, teaching, but also art and writing. Although he dabbled in poetry while in college, he didn't take it up again until a few years ago. Most of his poems reflect his experiences in Vietnam. Currently Andy teaches technical writing at a community college. He has also resumed his long-neglected hobby of painting and drawing.

Anna Randazzo

Anna started writing poems to preserve her sanity as a stay at home mom of three children. As a child, she enjoyed the rhythm musicality of poetry which appealed to her even more than the words.
