Extended Borrowing Fees
Life happens and sometimes you just can't make it to the library to return the items you have borrowed. SDL tries to be understanding but...other patrons are deprived of using those materials when they are kept past their due date.
If a patron chooses to keep a material past its due date, an extended borrowing fee will be charged. Audio books, books, CD's, and magazines are charged 10 cents per item per day overdue. Movies are charged $1 per day per item. Materials returned to the drop box after the library is closed are considered to be overdue. Fines will not accrue on days the library is closed. The maximum fine is the replacement cost of the material. Movies do not have a maximum fine.
